Matter and Thread motors

Eve Motionblinds motors with built‑in Matter and Thread connect directly to Amazon Alexa using Thread border routers such as the Echo Show and Eero Pro. No Motionblinds bridge is required. Alexa communicates locally over the Thread network, providing fast, reliable control of your smart blinds.

Matter and Wi‑Fi bridges

Motionblinds motors using Bluetooth or 433MHz can connect to Amazon Alexa through Motionblinds Matter Bridges (CM-55). Bridge setup is quick with QR‑code scanning and requires no account or registration. The bridges work fully offline, so your blinds stay responsive even without an internet connection. The Motionblinds app makes onboarding simple and dependable.

Cloud connection and Wi‑Fi bridges

Motionblinds motors with built‑in 433MHz technology can connect to Motionblinds Wi‑Fi bridges (CMD-01 and CM-20) for use with Amazon Alexa. After linking Motionblinds in the Alexa app, your blinds can be controlled through a secure cloud‑to‑cloud integration. This is an easy way to enable Alexa voice control for homes with existing Motionblinds motors.

Amazon Alexa - Frequently asked questions

Eve Motionblinds motors with Matter and Thread connect directly by scanning the Matter QR code through the Alexa app. Bluetooth and 433MHz motors require a Motionblinds Matter Bridge or a Wi‑Fi bridge. After pairing, blinds appear instantly in the Amazon Alexa app.

Yes. Alexa supports commands like “Alexa, open the blinds,” “Close the blinds,” or “Set the blinds to 50%.” You can control blinds individually, by room, or as part of Alexa routines.

Matter and Thread enabled Eve Motionblinds motors do not require a Motionblinds bridge but do need a Thread border router such as an Echo speaker with Matter and Thread support. Bluetooth and 433MHz motors require either a Matter Bridge or Motionblinds Wi‑Fi bridge for compatibility.

This can happen if the device is not in pairing mode, the QR code wasn’t scanned properly, or your Wi‑Fi/Thread network is offline. Restarting your Echo device, router, bridge, or motor typically resolves connection issues. Still need help? Try the Motionblinds support chatbot for quick guidance and troubleshooting.

Ensure your Thread border router or Wi‑Fi bridge is powered and online.
